우리는 인간세포와 동물, 식물의 유전자를 교정하는 신기술을 개발하고 이를 이용해 미토콘드리아 유전질환을 포함한 불치병을 치료하는 방법을 연구합니다. 또한 식물 엽록체 DNA를 교정해 광합성 효율을 높이는 방법을 연구하고 이를 식량 증산과 기후위기 대응을 위한 탄소저감에 활용하고자 합니다.

Our lab pioneers cutting-edge tools and methods for genome editing in human cells, animals, and plants. Utilizing these advancements, we develop novel treatments for incurable diseases, including mitochondrial genetic disorders. In addition, we work on editing chloroplast DNA to enhance photosynthetic efficiency in plants, with the goal of boosting crop yields and contributing to carbon neutralization in response to the climate crisis.
